I'm glad to announce I've just published my third novel and the first book in an all-new series!

It's available in Kindle ebook format from Amazon worldwide and can be found right here:…

Dazzling cities where dragons and airships fly among enchanted skyscrapers and winged people nest on rooftops under a never-setting sun.

Hidden villages in desert caverns, populated entirely by shapeshifters who live half their lives blind.

Armies of towering wolfen beings waging vicious battle under the blood moon.

Myriad nations of the alien world of Zalensia, a realm where humans find themselves summoned in their slumber, living dual lives in dreams and on Earth.

Sophia is one such human. Every night she dreams of flying, never assuming more of the realm on the other side - until she wakes one morning with wings on her back. Now she must use her sleeping hours to venture across this magical landscape, finding answers to her transformation whilst keeping it hidden on Earth.

But Zalensia is not a world made for humans, and the beings that call it home do not take kindly to outsiders...

"I must find my niece."

When a demonic entity attacks Timber Stead's rural village, murders his nephew and kidnaps his niece, he swears an oath by his god to retrieve her - a promise which will steal the rest of his years, sending him to places of unutterable darkness.

"He couldn't move but only watch as the red stone took a living shape, uncoiling from the floor and moving toward him, three red eyes like blood, staring without blinking, a crocodilian grin, four arms pulled up and four hands reaching forward..."

Even transformed into a holy knight by the searing, celestial light of the Sun he worships, he may find himself unable to banish the monsters of Ocera - or the ones lurking in his own past.

"Claws that irrigated reminded him of the damnation his blessing had been, teeth that scalped taught him that answered prayers were only a half-wheeled wagon..."

In this second novel of the ever-dark Ocera series, we learn the nature and the fate of the man named Sunshield.

A young girl caught in the wake of a demonic entity's terror upon her town finds herself taken from humanity, pulled into the dark nether world of Ocera, where monstrous creatures make up the dominant life form and humans among them exist merely as prey and playthings.

But in this world of flame, she forges her spirit into steel, and bears their brutality with adamantine determination. Abandoning hope for rescue, she turns her focus onto raising her son... her demonic offspring.

But a culture lies buried in the past of these demons, and more beings take watch over this planet than any of them know.

"Ocera" is a grim and unflinching look into a world of nightmares and monsters, where magic is not a blessing and children's adventures do not lead to wishes come true.

I wrote a 50k+ novel in under 30 days.

You can see the comic it's based on here:…

EDIT: While uploading the novel, I missed one chapter in the middle of the work. FictionPress doesn't have an "insert chapter into middle of story" option and instead of copying and repasting every single chapter following into the next one (like when you miss a button on your shirt, and you have to redo the next 12 buttons after...) I had to delete it, to be re-uploaded in its entirety later.

Part of this is that FP's file uploader also doesn't preserve formatting so I have to go in and manually re-italicize and re-bold everything as appropriate as well, and at the time I discovered the missing chapter I simply didn't have the time and it's best not to leave it up in the state it was in. So for now, it's gone. It will be put back up... whenever I feel like going through all the trouble again. If anyone is interested in reading it in the meanwhile, send me a message and I can send you the text file.
where doing it man

SO most of the city -- most of the state seems to be underwater now! We've gotten 25% of our yearly rainfall in two days! Also some tornadoes but that's nothing new for TN! Also I was in the hospital because I had some freaking awful asthma crap happen and my lungs are all gunky and I coughed until I pulled my back and felt like I gargled with thumb-tacks and anyway I went to the hospital and I haven't slept in over 24 hours and I am tweaked on so many uppers! First my inhaler which is steroidal! Then they gave me steroid pills! Then they made me smoke some kind of... steroid bong for like 20 minutes! Anyway when we tried to drive back the road was a river so we had to take a half-hour detour along high ground and I'm pretty glad that we live on high ground and on the second story of our building!

I feel like I fell down a flight of stairs with a piece of barbed wire in my windpipe and I'm kind of freaking out about being surrounded by standing water with all the highways closed off but all these drugs are flipping me into some kind of something like wow!

It should go without saying that I'm not going to the final day of MTAC!

I'm going to stuff my face and fall into a hard sleep when this stuff all wears off bye!
I feel like a train wreck and I literally have no voice right now. I don't see myself going to the rest of MTAC. Sorry to anyone I didn't get to see yet.

Another edit: okay, I'll try to go, I'll take it easy this time. My muscles aren't as sore... still can't talk, so, if you see me and I don't say anything that's why! And I definitely won't be doing any karaoke, heh.

I'm not wearing my Seaking dress anymore. A seam on the corset ripped so I'll have to shelve it until I can fix it...or talk my mom into fixing it.
LAST WAAARNING! I'm about to head to bed; tomorrow, I have night class and then turn in early. And then I will be GONE until Monday at the -earliest-! If you want to arrange to meet me at MTAC then send me a message quick about it!

I will be there all weekend, April 30 - May 2, Friday to Sunday!

You may spot me in THIS DRESS most likely (but I might not wear it on every day):…

When I'm out of the dress, I will likely have a dragon or gryphon on my shoulder, and it will turn its head to look at you.

I often drift into the video game room for Rock Band, or into the analog game room for sitting around being a bum. If all else fails, you are 100% guaranteed to find me at the karaoke party.

As a reminder, I'll be at the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention if anyone wants to meet me there. For the last day (Sunday), I'll be wearing a black and white prom dress, with black wings, wearing a white-and-blue fuzzy dragon puppet on my shoulder. :3 I'll probably just be floating around, watching anime, playing video and analog games, or doin' whatever.
I will be attending MTAC this year, April 3-5. So anyone who wants to run into me in person can see me there!

Anyone on my friend/watch/buddy list/Facebook is pretty much a given as someone I wouldn't mind meeting. So if you're there, tell me! And if I don't know what you look like, telling me that wouldn't hurt either (and your costume, if any).

I will wearing my Seaking-tan/gijinka costume on at least one day. I'll probably also wear that black and red ballgown that I wore last year (there's a pic of me in it on my Death by Coffee website). Third outfit pending -- I might go with the gray wings and pet griffin again.
So it turns out I'm not going to WCAD after all. Why? Because the guy who was supposed to be helping us with forms and loan applications was a lazy douchebag who waited until it was too late and didn't even care that I wasn't going to be able to go. So, last-minute, I went to ITT Tech today and signed up all at once, yes, FINISHED IT ALL IN ONE DAY INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THREE MONTHS FOR THE FORMS TO GET SENT TO US ONE AT A TIME, and I'll be taking a two-year course with a major in Drafting & Design. So I'll basically be pursuing a field of architecture, engineering, technical illustrations, etcetera now. Um. Expect some interesting and very different stuff to start showing up in my gallery in the future.
It is our pleasure to accept your application to attend Watkins College of Art & Design beginning with the Fall 2008 semester.

In addition, after reviewing your application, the fine arts faculty has chosen to award you the Raw Talent Scholarship. Under the terms of this award you will receive $1,000 towards tuition, split equally over your first two semesters (fall and spring), based on full-time enrollment of 12 or more credit hours. Also, if your cumulative grade point average stays at 3.25 or above, you will receive additional monies under our scholarships for continuing student program.

Again, congratulations, and we sincerely look forward to welcoming you to our college.

We found a house!
It really sucks when you can't find a home.

Cocoa Beach is worthless to us, so soon we will go to Ocala instead. I hope we find a home soon...
We went through Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, up through New England and surrounding environs, then came down through Pennsylvania and the Carolinas and are now in Florida! Now we just need to find a home to rent...(We're in a trailer park currently.)
